We know it is essential for individuals with physical disability to stimulate their brain in a way that is appropriate for their own needs. In comparison to traditional learning which places emphasis on the 'content' of what is being taught, wholistic learning is instead focused on three different variables; physical, mental and social support. For example, we consider overall health, the mindset of the individual, the individuals' interest in the activity, and the overall benefit. Unlike regular respite programs, we focus on the importance of brain stimulation to encourage positive wellbeing.
We cater for young adults aged 13-25, predominantly with moderate to severe physical disabilities who live in the Northern beaches region.
Support services will be covered through your NDIS funding, but as we are not a registered NDIS provider your funding must be either plan managed or self managed.
Our activities are designed and chosen to be wholesome, interactive and enjoyable. Activities offered will change on a monthly basis which can be booked online to reserve the participants' place.
Day activities can be booked throughout the week and weekend.
Our weekend trip experiences run four times a year. However, we do offer weekend day activities on a weekly basis.
We offer 1:1 support during each activity, to ensure that the participant truly engages with the experience. However, we do not offer at home 1:1 support. We offer group experiences only.
Our groups are small and personalised, containing a maximum of 4 participants per experience.
